Who is the parent company of ATT?

Comprising headquarters in Dallas, Texas, AT&T Inc. is a global business offering internet services connected to communication technologies. Among the top telecommunication businesses worldwide, it provides among other goods and services fixed phone services, broadband subscription television, and mobile phone services.

Fascinatingly, AT&T's early years align with the late 1800s. Owned initially by Alexander Graham Bell, Bell Telephone Company Over decades, it developed into a huge telecommunications company called AT&T Internet Corporation. Known as Ma Bell, AT&T controlled the market for about half of the 20th century as the exclusive supplier of phone services.

Under an antitrust lawsuit, Ma Bell, AT&T, divided in 1982 into smaller regional businesses or "Baby Bells". The idea was to inspire more telecom industry rivalry. Among the Baby Bell businesses were Pacific Telesis, BellSouth, NYNEX, Ameritech, and Southwestern Bell. These Baby Bell firms began combining over the next decades to rebuild a new AT&T corporation.

For example, in 1995 SBC Communications evolved from what then was Southwestern Bell Corporation. SBC bought the original AT&T Corporation in 2005 and changed its name to the well-known AT&T, therefore completing another acquisition. Beginning in 2006, the new AT&T Inc. began purchasing several additional Baby Bell firms, including BellSouth. Modern AT&T Inc. so basically represents a "rebirth" of the Ma Bell monopolistic phone corporation.

Now the largest telecom firm worldwide, AT&T parent company of many well-known brands and affiliates like.
